Oakdale Arms Beer Festival, This Thursday, 7.30ish onwards!

I will be driving down from Cambridge, so anyone wanting a lift there is welcome to tag along (space permitting, first come first served). I can't offer lifts back to cam, however, because I'm staying in Leytonstone that night and can only offer to drive people back that far.

doseybat is going, as is fluffymark and (hopefully) pseudomonas. timeplease will be there, of course.

Sorry, my fault. I was feeling emotionally wobbly, and just couldn't make myself face a lot of people. Too many scary things in one week just wore me down a bit much, I think. It's not you, and not something that happens to me very often, but it does bite me sometimes. I am very sorry, and hope to make it up to you some time soon.

Yes, I'm sorry that didn't work out so well. We both were regretting having left early after the play, actually -- it seemed like a good idea at the time, because we bath had to be up really early the following morning, but we were kicking ourselves a bit in the train on the way back over it.

You're very welcome to come along to the Oakdale on Thursday -- it's very friendly. fluffymark will be there, so there is guaranteed to be at least one person you already know.

You didn't miss much as everyone left after one drink - we spent longer getting to the pub than we did once inside!

I would have loved to come to the beer festival but unfortunately I'm already busy that day. Not sure there would have been much for me to drink actually, with the whole vegan thing it's rather difficult to find beer that doesn't contain animal bones, bladders, etc, etc!

It occurs to me that Steve (timeplease), the owner of the Oakdale, is probably a good person to ask about such things -- he definitely knows his beer!

Anyway, do keep in touch. I'm sure something will be sortable at some point. If nothing else, doseybat and I will be both living in London at some point in the (hopefully) not too distant future, so I'd be happy to feed you (I was veggie for several years myself, and can do a reasonable stab at vegan cookery). :)
