We have received the following message from the University security
office.

Information has been received that 2 bombs have been planted in
Cambridge,
which are to be detonated at 2pm. One in the City, and the other within
the University. Will anyone who may see a suspicious package, leave the
area and contact either the Police or University Security Control Centre
immediately.

If you see a suspect package in CMS please contact a member of the
facilities staff or me.

Well, no obvious bangs yet. I've not heard any further rumours.

It could be animal rights people protesting the new primate research facility, so don't necessarily assume it's Bin Laden's bunch.
