Bat news...

It is looking like it will take about 2 weeks for replacement passports to come through, then maybe a couple of days of queueing at the British Embassy in order to got their visas reinstated. I'm therefore guessing about three weeks. Expect likely Bat family returnage toward the end of August.

When I know more, I'll post here.

Hello!

too late to phone you so am posting to say yay instead of buying a dodgy laptop on eBay why not take MY laptop and give it to her? It needs a standard travelstar Hard Drive as if you remember mine died, and also will need you to install an operating system and whatever else bat will require on to it, but surely this would be a lot cheaper than a whole new laptop?

If you want to take it then say so. Either you can get the hard drive and then I'll pay for it whenever the alptop finds it's way back to me or I'll get one myself.

Also, Prince Yves and I will want to pas on to you a couple of ickle things to give to bat when you go on the Russian Adventure. I would also suggest watching Goldeneye a couple of times before leaving too :)

Bat's nasty old laptop is here, so it probably makes sense for me to sort it out and just take that one with me. Thanks, though -- it just probably makes more sense, since hers is the more expendable.

Mmmm... Bond movies... Sounds like as good an excuse as anything!

I'm feeling a little cheered. I checked the rules for applying for British citizenship -- she qualifies totally, and can still apply even from Russia via the local British consulate. It will probably take months, but it is better than nothing.
