Remember this?

Chicken Egg Problem

Well, it finished third in my local camera club competition, so it was sent on to the N4C 'club of clubs' annual competition. And, apparently, it won the creative section for 2006! Considering it was the first print I ever entered in any competition anywhere, ever, I'm pretty amazed by that, to be honest.

I did well tonight, too. This one:

Rocks and Boulders, Joshua Tree National Park

won the Pictorial Monochrome print section, and overall print of the month.

*bounce!!!*

Yay, congrats!

I stood at the same spot in JoTr a couple months ago taking macro shots of the pegmatite dikes :)

Fantastic! You should be justifiably proud - your photos reflect the work you put in to them, and it's always a pleasure to see them on my friends page. :-)

Can you explain the egg? I mean, how was that achieved? The mind boggles!

You'll probably be terribly disappointed to learn that the bottom part of the picture was done using CGI and not by finding a real way to make an egg behave like that :-) But here's the explanation posted at the time.

Thanks for that! I must have missed it the first time around.

I was picturing lasers or something...

I must admit that it was sufficiently faffy trying to make a CGI egg perfectly line up with the real egg that I did start wanting to take a high-power laser to the damned thing just out of pure revenge! :-)

Ah, yay yay yay for you! :-)

That's absolutely fantastic. And very well-deserved. I always feel it's a highlight of my friends' page when you get posting your photos. *grins*

Well done! Not surprising, though - some of the recent ones have been quite breathtaking. Thanks for posting them!
