It is Friday. I have less than two weeks left in the UK. I am currently on my own, deep inside Kew Gardens, far enough that all I can hear are the birds, the wind in the trees and the 747s taking off at Heathrow. A week on Wednesday, I will be on one of them, bound for the Pacific coast of the United States.

It is so peaceful here. I somehow got to steal a couple of hours in a place where worldly concerns seem irrelevant in comparison with the stately grace of trees that were planted before my destination was, well, a destlnation. Off the edge of the world . Here be dragons, serpents &c. There actually be, more realistically, decent Mexican food, good weather and a significantly double-edged, sink-or-swim chance at a new life.

I had better go blow up my lilo and my water wings, then.

I am going to hell. I took one look at your subject line and somehow assumed you'd missed the "l" off the end. Now I can't stop thinking about what you might find in Kewl Gardens...

I love that you are sharing the peace and solitude on LJ.

As I understand it some of the planes fly back from the US too. J and I certainly managed to come home last year. Although we didn't especially want to, so at least two people in the world are jealous of the position you are in right now. Just remember to keep the receipt for your waterwings.

Much love

P

Hmm... well, my kids *did* find both a 30cm lizard (not a decent dragon) and later a 1+m snake sunning themselves while we were out geocaching 11 days ago...

:)

We should do lunch before I run off north, if you have time. If not, I totally understand - that whole adjusting to a new place thing is hard.

Mwah, so close! Have fun :)

... don't suppose you and bat have time for a Thai before you leave? If not, we'll just have to drop by your new place some time ;)
