Noooo! Bananas are a giant mutant space herb - alien invaders from The Yellow Planet. For a start, they grow the wrong way up. This clearly demonstrates they're used to developing normally in a high gravity environment. In Earth's lower gravity they overcompensate - what a giveaway! And evil? Of course!
