It wasn't meant to be a great work of art. The teapot model is one of the first objects ever rendered by a 3D rendering engine. The fur is courtesy of the fact that, unlike early renderers, 3D Studio *can* do fur, thereby walking across Africa on *its* hands and knees on *your* behalf.
Meret's image is impressive, and nicely completes the set.
