Just in case anyone out there hasn't heard: Rumour has it that Gardies has been saved from extinction. Or so I heard from someone in college tonight.

Yaay -- their kebab related wonderosity shall be with us always.

I'm fairly sure that my parents' first date was to the Gardies' upstairs restaurant. I think it was a bit classier in those days. ;)

For that, along with many, many other reasons (mostly involving late-night nibblings after performing at the ADC), I'm very pleased that it will be carrying on. *smiles*

It backed onto Gardies from Green Street. Omar was a Turk, the Gardies crowd are all Greeks. But I reckon they were both in cahoots and collectively responsible for Cambridge's low stray dog and cat population...
