It happened to me last night just after I got off a tube train in London. A (probably non-English) woman got off just after me, managed to drive her suitcase-on-wheels over both by feet (and bounced it off one of my knees for good measure), then smiled and cheerfully said, "Thank you!"
PS: Fluffies have body parts visible only when relevant to the plot line. So hands, shoes, etc. don't appear unless it is necessary for plot purposes. God told the saucer people to get the reverse vampires from the Rand Corporation to have a word with me about doin it that way.
The other theory is that I'm too lazy and or talentless to draw them. Believe whichever story you find most plausible. :)
It may be that her English did not stretch to "Oops, sorry". Or that "Oops, sorry" was what she was attempting to communicate (like the French use "Sil Vous Plait to mean "Please", "You're welcome" and "There you go" and the Italian (from what little I comprehend) seem to use Prago in the same way).
Okay, now it makes a little more sense. If their grasp of English is tenuous... But it still doesn't really explain why they didn't stop after the first foot.
Hmmm...maybe I'll try to make one. I already have a pattern for a fabric ball, so it should be just a question of making that and adding a suitable expression (& little appendages if I'm feeling ambitious).
The Fluffy fluff seems to be quite deep and nubbly, though; I'm not sure what sort of material would work; otherwise they might end up as just Balls. Although a lot of that depends on what scale the Fluffies are.... :)
I was thinking around 10-15cm diameter, so it's true that the nubbly bits wouldn't show up as much as on the cartoons, but I think I'd still end up with something rather sweet. And I could always make mini ones (~5-7cm diameter) with the remaining fabric, where the nubbles might well be to scale.
MAybe the lady had been threatened that her children would be executed unless she managed to run her suitcase over someone's feet in the next 15 seconds?
