Happy Thanksgiving
Nov. 22nd, 2006 04:23 pm... to anyone out there who happens to know what Thanksgiving is. I have a vague idea, but all should become rather clearer, I'm told. :-)
I'm currently at San Jose airport, just about to get on a plane to Phoenix, where I'll be visiting
jmtkalcich and
i_am_heidi. I am hauling frightening quantities of camera gear with me, so I hope Heidi realises what she's letting herself in for when she suggested that she wanted to have a go with my medium format gear. :-)
I've, er, slimmed it down a bit. I'm just taking 4 lenses with me, a 40mm wide, 45-90 zoom, 100-220 zoom and my favourite 55mm shift/tilt. All other than the 40 are huge, so I'm not sure my bag has anything less in it than usual. I *think* it's lighter, but I might be imagining it.
The crap thing is I killed my nice Giottos tripod somehow, probably by overloading it with the Cambo. I've sheared a couple of plastic pegs, which means that one of the legs kind of comes off in your hand when you extend it if you're not very careful. Graaaah. I'll have to replace it, I can't risk dropping a camera worth several times as much as my car, but graaah. I liked that tripod. :-( I have it with me anyway, but I'll have to be very careful with it.
Anyway, we're getting on the plane shortly, so I'll disappear at this point.
Have a nice Turkey Day tomorrow. ;-)
