PhD funding is finally signed off!!!
Jul. 11th, 2003 09:49 amSorry for the very brief posting earlier. I wanted to get the news out quickly, and didn't really have very much time to write.
I now the proud possessor of a bundle of signed contracts! I'll have to onto them for a little over a week, because the next person who needs to sign them, Alan, my supervisor, is on holiday. But, this is it. I definitely have funding. There can be no possible doubt about it now.
Some of you will probably know that there was a bit of a wobble towards the end of contract negotiations, and I got very scared that things are going to fall through at the last moment. Amazingly, everything came together today, the contracts got signed, and everyone is happy.
I still don't have a college yet, of course, but hopefully that should resolve itself quite soon. I'm sure that now I have formal confirmation that I do actually have funding that this should make the getting a college thing more of a foregone conclusion. Today, I wrote -- with some satisfaction -- to the relevant people at the board of graduate studies and the secretaries of the relevant colleges graduate admissions departments.
Phew!
