PhD news -- interest from MIT

One of the people I sent a funding begging letter to was Arvind at Sandburst Inc. They couldn't give me any money, but the interesting thing is that Arvind's sabbatical is now over, so he's back at MIT and is running their computation structures group.

It seems that MIT are interested in possible collaboration on my area of research.

The party went well!

Not many people, but it was nice all the same. Thanks to fluffymark, galliana, Doseybat, Natasha, Penguin and Gaya for coming.

Plans for the next party

As threatened, I am planning a (larger) party in late September. At that point, I'll be close to leaving Purley, and will be setting off for Cambridge a week or so later. As September 19th is my birthday anyway, this is a particularly good time to 'do something'.

Therefore, I hereby declare a party on the weekend of the 20th/21st of September, 2003 CE. The venue will be the Penguin house in Purley.
