Am on Dreamwidth now.

Surprisingly enough, under exactly the same user ID as here. Friend me! Friend me Now!

(Or circle me. Or whatever it is they call it there. It's pretty, though.)

Given that it's running off the LJ codebase, what are the advantages?

That's probably better addressed to someone who has been on there more than the half-hour I have. Basically, as I understand it, it's a fork from the LJ codebase, and goes back to the pre-Russian Mafia concept that LJ had before it sold out. And, I like being an early adopter in a new space. You get to meet the cooler kids that way.

I already have a permanent account here, so I won't move unless a lot of my friends do.

Will do... that is, once I've got an account over there. No invite code so far. ;)

Yes. They mean very well, but they haven't given usage a lot of thought. I also find 'Dreamwidth' awkward to type - livejournal just flows off the fingers - and 'my dreamwidth' does not have the same ring as 'my livejournal' at all.

You have been circled.
