"Hills 1" really gives me that "the world ends there" shiver, with that nice clean sharp non-hazy horizon. I guess the small diameter and thin atmosphere of Mars contribute...oh, wait, you're not *that* far away. Anyway, I like it!

Something about Tent City has me contemplating so many things. Human frailty. The size of the universe. Artificial color.

As [livejournal.com profile] pplfichi says, this one puts everything into perspective somehow, not just visually. Here we are, modern-day explorers on a still mostly unexplored island, with all our technology and logistics, but when you're in your tent at night, and it's really, really cold, and the wind is blowing hard, it really does remind you that humans are essentially guests in this landscape. It's not ours.
